Terms of use
These terms are an agreement between you and Raman ("we") about using PlateEffect. By signing in, you agree to them and to our privacy policy.
The Membership
PlateEffect needs a Membership to record anything. There is one kind of Membership, with no free version and no ads. It is bought monthly or yearly through the App Store or Google Play, and it belongs to the Account that bought it; it cannot be shared or moved to another Account.
The free week
Each person can start one free week. If you do not cancel before it ends, your store charges the price shown when you started, and the Membership renews from then on. The app reminds you the day before the free week ends.
Renewing and cancelling
Payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google account when the free week ends, or when you confirm the purchase if you have already had a free week. Your Membership renews automatically at the end of each month or year, and your account is charged again within the 24 hours before the period ends, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before then. You can cancel at any time in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings; your Membership then lasts until the end of the period you paid for. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their own rules. If a payment fails, the store gives you a short time to fix it before the Membership ends.
Price
At any time there is one price for everyone: no sales, discounts or win-back prices. If we lower the price, it is lowered for existing Members too. If we raise it, your store tells you first and asks you where the law requires. The one exception is a Founding member: someone who bought during the founding offer keeps that price for as long as they stay a Member without a break. Leaving and coming back later means paying the price of the day.
Redeem codes
We sometimes give away a Redeem code worth a number of days of Membership. Each code can be used once per Account, and some can only be used a limited number of times or until a date. A code cannot be exchanged for money, and it does not extend a Membership you are paying for through a store.
Without a Membership
When your Membership ends, PlateEffect opens read-only: you can still see everything you logged and make or restore a backup file, but you cannot record anything new until you are a Member again. We never hold your log back from you. We keep it on our server for twelve months, as the privacy policy explains.
Not medical advice
PlateEffect helps you record and understand what you eat, drink and train. It is not medical advice, and it does not replace a doctor, dietitian or other professional. Its targets and estimates are general guides. Talk to a professional before changing your diet or training, especially if you have a health condition, are pregnant or are recovering from an injury.
Using PlateEffect fairly
Keep your sign-in to yourself, and do not try to break, copy or overload the service. We may close an Account that does, after telling you why where we can.
Our responsibility
We work to keep PlateEffect and your data available and safe, but we cannot promise it will never be interrupted. Keep a backup file if your log matters to you. Nothing in these terms limits rights the law gives you that cannot be limited.
Changes
If we change these terms, we update the date above and tell you in the app before the change takes effect.
Apple
If you got PlateEffect from the App Store, Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies. These terms are between you and us, not Apple: Apple is not responsible for PlateEffect or its support.
Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and any dispute goes to the courts of Gurugram, Haryana. If the law where you live lets you bring a claim in your own country's courts, or gives you rights that cannot be limited, nothing here takes that away.
